The Standard Plan

The Standard Plan is a funeral plan that covers more than just the essentials.

This plan includes a funeral procession, gives your family the choice of time and date for the funeral and is available as a burial or cremation.

What the Standard Plan includes

  • Collection and transportation of the deceased to the funeral director’s premises within a 25 mile radius (during working hours)
  • Care of the deceased prior to the burial or cremation
  • A simple coffin
  • Provision of funeral staff
  • Funeral procession to funeral location (fees and costs of a service at a separate location not included)
  • Arrangement of the funeral service at a local cemetery or crematorium
  • Professional advice on certification, registration, and all the required legal documentation
  • Transportation to the funeral director’s premises if death occurs whilst on holiday in mainland UK

 

  • Use of chapel of rest or service rooms and family viewing at a pre-arranged time
  • Funeral held on a normal weekday, during working hours
  • Provision of Chapel of Rest facilities for viewing of the deceased prior to the funeral
  • Choice of date and time of funeral
  • Hearse to a local crematorium or cemetery
  • Provision of sufficient staff to attend to the coffin as required (e.g. pallbearers
  • 24 hour funeral director telephone support for the bereaved
  • Our Standard Plan also includes a £1,100 allowance towards third party costs which can be used towards burial or cremation fees and minister or officiant fees

What funeral costs do I need to cover ?

Whilst the cost of the funeral director’s services is included in your plan, there are other costs you need to consider.

What is not included

Our Standard Plan includes a £1,100 allowance towards third party costs which can be used towards burial or cremation fees and minister or officiant fees. However, there may be other essential, non-funeral director charges to pay for. Bennetts Funeral Directors cannot control these costs, and these fees need to be paid at the time of the funeral.

The value of the allowance included in your plan may grow over time. There will only be more to pay at the time of the funeral if the third party costs exceed the allowance when you buy your plan, or if the costs increase by more than the growth of your plan.
