Tower of London Remembers The First World War 1914 – 2014
What an amazing day we had yesterday, to see such a wonderful site, being viewed by so many. Each poppy in The Blood Swept Lands And Seas Of Red exhibition commemorates a fallen WW1 serviceman with the first of the 888,246 ceramic poppies being planted in the Tower’s dry moat in July, with the final one due to be installed on Armistice Day.
Thousands of people lined the perimeter, taking a peaceful and thoughtful stroll around the moat, amazed by the display and thoughtful in what each poppy represents. Young and old comment as they walk, truly an inspiring momentous exhibition.
