Do you need a local bereavement support group in Essex?

Our local bereavement support group and grief counselling groups are here to help anyone struggling with the loss of a loved one.

Grief is not a weakness, its a sign that you cared. The local bereavement support group set up by Bennetts Funeral Directors in 2007 is designed to offer you grief counselling in Essex when you most need a helping hand.

The shock of losing of a loved one is a terrible and traumatic experience, but its often the time afterwards that can be far more difficult to cope with. People may have expectations of how you should be coping and after the funeral many people just simply disappear, ultimately you can end up feeling quite alone. As well as offering local grief counselling, Bennett’s Funeral Directors has had the privilege to be able to set up two local bereavement support groups in Essex designed to offer you friendly support amongst a group of bereaved families in likewise situations as your self.

Brentwood parents bereavement support group

The Brentwood Bereaved Parents Support Group “Our Grieving Hearts” started in June 2011 following a call from a lady whose children had died. Several other families then joined to share their experiences and although this group is small we would actively encourage others who may benefit from receiving help and support from this group to come along.

  • Where? Merrymeade House, Merrymeade Chase, off Sawyers Hall Lane, Brentwood, CM15 9BG
  • When? The group usually meets every first Monday of the month
  • What time? Between 7.00pm and 9.00pm

What happens at the Brentwood parents bereavement support group?

Although this is not a grief counselling group, the fact that everyday issues are being discussed and that topics are being suggested for discussion means that the support within the group is of immense importance.  There may be times during the sessions when you do not want to talk, or feel too sad to talk, when you may just sit and cry, there will be other times though when you feel like talking, laughing too.  Everyone who attends will have the same bond and will understand how you are feeling. This wonderful, group is situated just a few minutes walk from Brentwood High Street and there is ample parking and refreshments are served.

Local Grief Counselling in Essex – how we can help

Grief is the cost of caring. Our reaction signifies that we are missing someone who was very important in our lives and it’s a normal human reaction to an unwelcome human experience. However, until it actually happens to you, you have no idea of how hard the road is ahead that you will have to walk. But with the Bennetts in Essex local grief counselling programme you don’t have to walk that road alone. In partnership with Dr Bill Webster embark on the grief journey and allow his wisdom through his own personal experiences of loss to support and guide you through your own bereavement.

Just a quick note to thank you and your helpers, for giving your time to the recent Bereavement Group in Essex. Surprisingly to me, I found it more helpful than one to one counseling. Listening to people other than myself baring their souls gave me some comfort. Once again thanks for your time and effort, it was greatly appreciated.
