Hope this newsletter finds you all well.
When looking at places to visit and things to do, please don’t forget the Brentwood Theatre, there is always something going on, and those of you on the Bennetts Funerals email list will be sent their newsletter via Lu.
The Beeches Brentwood
Run a Gentlemen’s Club on the last Friday of every month. This is free of charge. If you are interested in going along, please call Aileen or Louise on 01277 690300.
They are also holding a pamper day for the ladies on Tuesday 11th March 10am – 3pm. Again this is free of charge, so if you ladies are interested, please call Aileen or Louise on the above mentioned number.
Brentwood Borough Council
Is please to be working alongside Safer Brentwood to host a free day for senior members of the community to learn about staying safe.
The day will comprise of presentations by key organisations such as Essex Police and Trading Standards, which will raise awareness of typcial crime against older people. Subjects discussed will include rogue traders, cold callers, distraction burglaries, scams and fraud, and will inform about support services available for older residents, such as Neighbour Watch and the Papworth Trust.
After a free lunch, participants will be treated to an educational play with a sing song, ‘Trickster’, by Solomon Theatre Company. Spaces are limited, so anyone interested in attending will need to book their place before the 7th March by calling Brentwood Borough Council on 01277312644 or emailing email@example.com.
The event will take place on the 25th March, from 10am-3pm, at Sawyers Hall Church Sawyers Hall Lane, Brentwood.
For those wishing to attend there is also possible assistance for participants who have difficulty accessing transport links or who have mobility needs. Callers should state their needs when telephoning to book their place.
Golden Charter Independent Way Pre Paid Funeral Plans
If you, or anyone else you know is interested in taking out a pre paid funeral plan, we are offering (if taken before 31st March) £100 donation to a charity of your choice, or £100 off the funeral directors costs.

Essex Fire Museum & Afternoon tea at DeRougement Manor Wednesday 2nd April
We have a list of 18. Please be aware we will need some volunteer drivers. If you are happy to drive and can take a few people in your car, please let Janet or Lu know ASAP.
Memorial Service Sunday 27th April at the Military Chapel Warley at 4pm
This is a lovely service where we can remember our loved ones, please try and come along. All are welcome.
This will be taking place on 17th May, 7pm at the Brentwood Centre.
If you are interested in taking part for a charity of your choice you can download a sponsorship form from firstname.lastname@example.org or just come along to watch and maybe make a donation.
Tea Dance Saturday 31st May 4-6pm at the TA Centre Warley
£12 per person which includes afternoon tea. Licensed bar & raffle Singing from Fairlytes Choir and music from all eras.
Raising money for The Royal British Legion.
People can dress up and put on their dancing shoes if they wish but it’s not compulsory.
Penshurst Place House & Gardens Kent
This is booked for Wednesday 4th June.
We have booked a coach for 25 so the total cost (if fully booked) with coach and gardens will be £23.00. 2 wheelchairs are available to hire but we need to book these, so please let us know if you would like one booked.
We need to know numbers by the end of April.
If we do not have enough we will offer to the Stepping Forward group in Billericay.
Help needed to run our bereavement group social outings
Due to work commitments we desperatley need someone to take over the social side of our group. If you are interested, please let Jane or Janet at Bennetts Funerals know.
We also would like someone (or a group to go on a rota) to meet and greet everyone at the door. Please let us know if you would be happy to do this.
