Bereavement Support Services and Grief Counselling
As we continue on our mission to improve access to the Bereavement Support Services that we offer to our bereaved and grieving families, Bennetts Funeral Directors are pleased to provide a new, free bereavement support service through the GriefChat Service.
When you experience the death of a close friend or family member you would expect to suffer distress and emotional trauma for a time. However, the strength of those emotions and how long they last can often take you by surprise. When people begin to think you should be ‘back to normal’ after a few weeks or months that will probably not be the case. It may be, after a few months that you are feeling a long way off from normal, with no idea of what normal is anymore.
As the weeks and months go by and those around you get on with their lives, you can often feel isolated, wishing you could talk openly about how you feel and about your loss, but thinking that people may not understand or might not want to listen. Sometimes, it is easier to talk to someone outside of your family and friends about grief and the impact of bereavement in your life and this is why Bennetts Funeral Directors offer the GriefChat Service.
GriefChat was created by bereavement experts and allows you to chat directly to a specially trained bereavement counsellor. GriefChat counsellors are experienced in supporting bereaved people and will listen to your story, explore how your grief is affecting you and help you to find any additional support you might need. GriefChat is a completely free service and is available Monday-Friday, 9am-9pm or by email out of these hours.
Committed to providing the best care for the bereaved, GriefChat is a safe space which provides emotional support, access to trained bereavement counsellors and referral into other specialist bereavement services.
