‘New Era’ Bereavement Support Group Newsletter September 2017
Bereavement support group in Essex, news and updates for Autumn 2017
We hope you had a good summer. The Holley family spent two weeks in Turkey and once again volunteered at the Dog Shelter in Dalyan. This time, you will be pleased to know, we left empty handed although it took some convincing (see below).
In this bereavement support group newsletter, you will find details of our forthcoming trip to the Essex Police Museum, the launch of the Billericay Heritage Tree, our first Memorial Service for people who have lost a child or pre-term baby, the Definitive Rat Pack and our Christmas meal on 13 December.
Essex Police Museum – Thursday 14 Sept
This is a self-drive trip meeting at Chelmer Retail Park (CM2 6XE) at 10.30am and walk up to the Museum for a 11am start.
We need ten people minimum for the tour to go ahead. £3 per person payable to the museum for the second part of the tour which will include a visit to the control room. The duration of the tour is approx. 1.5hrs. There will be an opportunity to shop and have coffee at the retail park after the tour.
Bennetts Funeral Directors Billericay Heritage Tree
We are installing a Heritage tree sculpture on Monday 18 September depicting Billericay history over the years including Norsey Woods, the town crier, the Mayflower, our Churches, train station, farming, and the Zeppelin to name a few. The tree will be the only art work erected on the high street and we are very proud to be part of it. Pictures to follow.
Sunday 15 October – Memorial Service for parents who have lost a child of any age or a pre-term baby
This is the first service of its kind organized by Bennetts Funeral Directors and Undertaker Services. The service will be held at Christ Church Warley at 3.30pm to mark Baby loss Awareness week. Anyone who has experienced this type of loss is welcome to join myself and Leigh Tanner (our Tiny Stars Group leader) at this special memorial service. More details available on request.
Sunday 12 November – The Brentwood Centre 7pm The Definitive Rat Pack
Join us on Remembrance Sunday and see The Definitive Rat Pack performing a one-off show supported by the “gold diggers” and a nine-piece big band. These guys regularly sell out in faraway shores such as Las Vegas and Dubai. Tickets are available at Ticket source priced at £20.00 which is a fraction of the price you would pay to see this act in the West End.
