BENNETTS FUNERAL DIRECTORS 2013 EVENTS
We are contacting you with information about various events which we are holding and services which we provide.
Last year we raised funds for The Alzheimers Society through various events; what a worthy cause they are. Members of Bennetts Staff were also involved with the Memory Walk which raised in excess of £8000. This year we are raising money for St Luke’s Hospice through events. We are also helping to tidy the churchyard at All Saints, East Horndon in preparation for the first wedding there in 50 years and also for the 70th anniversary of the B17 aircraft crash.
Bennetts Memorial Service – Sunday 28th April 2013
Bennetts hold a memorial service each year at The Essex Regimental Chapel in Warley; all families are welcome to attend. The service this year will begin at 4pm. Dr Bill Webster, world renowned grief counsellor will be there also to say a few words. A retiring collection will be taken for St Luke’s Hospice.
Dr Bill Webster’s Seminars
As part of Grief Journey Essex, Dr Bill Webster is holding seminars across the county in late April/early May. Dr Bill Webster is the director of the Centre for the Grief Journey. His knowledge of the grief process is a unique blend of personal experience, academic education and practical application.
Born and educated in Scotland he moved to Canada to be married. After his wife died suddenly in 1983 Bill struggled to come to terms with his loss. As part of his doctoral work at the University of Toronto he made a study of the grieving process. He has developed grief support programmes in many communities and has extensive experience in helping people come to terms with their loss. Acknowledged as a dynamic, personable and practical speaker, Dr Bill Webster combines his own story with his knowledge and sense of humour to effectively communicate his message.
These seminars are primarily for professionals who support the bereaved; hospital staff, doctor’s surgery staff, ministers, counsellors, registrars, care workers; they are also useful for those coming in to contact with the bereaved; school teachers, accountants, solicitors, bank staff, and estate agents. Those attending the seminars can use the training as part of their CPD.

Funeral Planning Wish List
Over the years the situation has frequently arisen where families are unsure of what funeral arrangements to make for a loved one, most will know the main factors, whether the funeral should be a burial or a cremation, some unfortunately do not. When it comes to the finer detail though, many families struggle with decisions as to the style of coffin, type of service, flowers and music. With this in mind we have devised a ‘Wish List’, downloadable from our website and with the ability to submit from our website too. We have covered most aspects of the funeral. So, please have a look and consider completing the ‘Wish List’, it does not have to be done in one go, it can always be discussed with family too, then everyone has peace of mind. A copy of the completed ‘Wish List’ should be kept in a safe place, such as with the Will with family members being aware of this important document.
Some folk may wish to go further than the ‘Wish List’ and take out a Golden Charter pre-paid funeral plan, thus freezing our funeral costs at today’s prices, this has proved to be such a benefit, especially to those who took out the plans many years ago. For further information please call Lucienne on 01277 624289.
