Bennetts Funeral Directors of Brentwood & Billericay announce the charities they are supporting this year!
Bennetts Funerals Directors of Brentwood and Billericay, each year nominate a charity to support and raise funds for through all the community projects and events they organise. This year we have two beneficiaries we would like to help in different ways.
St Luke’s Hospice, Basildon has been chosen as our ‘Charity of the Year’. The hospice serves Basildon and Thurrock local authorities and provides specialist care in warm and friendly surroundings. The hospice makes NO charge to patients or families for the essential quality care they provide. Therefore we aim to donate funds raised throughout the year to this worthy Hospice.
Secondly, we have become involved with another local community project by helping All Saints Church at East Horndon. The church has amazing history and relating legends which have been passed down through generations. The church is celebrating its 70th Anniversary of the War Memorial this year and having attended the service last year, Jane realised the potential of assisting the organising committee in restoring the grounds. The church grounds have been overgrown for some time and Bennetts staff have helped clear the brambles and debris at the rear of the church to uncover the gravestones that have possibly been hidden for decades. This work has been hindered by weather conditions but is due to recommence again soon. Our plan is to continue supporting the church by clearing the grounds and raising community awareness by holding organised events within the church.
There is a ‘Friends of All Saints’ group that would welcome any new supporters, please follow the link for further information
