Bennetts Funeral Directors of Billericay ‘Queen For A Day’ 31st May 2012
Billericay Queen for a Day 2012
Billericay Town Crier Jim Shrubb
I should like to thank all of the supporters for the Billericay ‘Queen for a Day’, who made it such a success.
Thanks should be given to those who nominated the prospective Queens whom the judges had the difficult task of judging, what a shame that all who were nominated could not have won. The winner, the inspirational Nikki Barrett, was nominated by her lovely eleven year old daughter Ellie. They are a truly amazing family who we feel honoured and humbled to have met.
From my first initial contact to the traders of Billericay I was, in the main, met with huge support and encouragement, what a fantastic community event it turned out to be. Thanks should go to those involved; Billericay Town Council, Brown Sugar, The Cater Museum, Billericay Cook Shop and Emporium, The Olive Branch, Louis and Oscars Tea Rooms, Kathleen’s Flowers, N Shelley, Headlines Hairdressers, Michaela’s Health and Beauty, Waitrose, Sylvia Kent, The Ivory Rooms, The Magic Mushroom, and last but not least Jim Shrubb.
We are delighted that our runner-up Queens; Karen Tullett and Doreen Potter were able to join us for the presentation at the start of the day, and that all three wonderful ladies were so magnanimous.
So, could something along these lines be done next year? Let’s hope so.
