Bennetts Funeral Directors, Brentwood, Essex, Carols in the Courtyard 13th December 2011
Our afternoon’s preparations started with the collection of our two VIP Guests, Bella and Peggy the donkeys who were collected by Bennetts Funeral Directors very own three wise men, Gary Ebsworth, Tony Motley and Jon Lee, from the Hopefield Animal Sanctuary. Bella and Peggy were proudly walked through Brentwood High Street on Tuesday afternoon by our very own Managing Director, Jane Bennett dressed as a Shepherd and Lucienne Young, who runs our Billericay office was dressed as Mary.
The aim was to lift community spirit in Brentwood and invite all to join in the ‘Carols in the Courtyard’ taking place at Bennetts Funerals, Fern House, 120 High Street, Brentwood at 4.30pm later that day. Once settled back at the yard Bella and Peggy were relaxing to the sounds of Jane Keane & the members of the Dawn Chorus Choir singing Christmas Carols and songs for all to join in. It was a wonderful atmosphere, young and old were given song sheets, in case they couldn’t remember the words, and indulged in warm Mulled Wine, Mince Pies, Tea and Coffee.
Jane would like to thank all who attended and supported the event, Hopefield Animal Sanctuary for allowing Bella and Peggy to become our VIP guests and look forward welcoming you all again next year. Don’t forget you still have chance to enter our ‘Decorate A Bell’ Competition, just log onto the website www.bennettsfunerals.co.uk/and follow the competition link. We are also offering the chance to Name A Star, giving the chance to remember a loved one by placing a star on our Remembrance Tree in both offices at Brentwood and Billericay.
All that is left to say is have a Very Merry Christmas from all at Bennetts Funeral Directors, Brentwood and Billericay.
